    Hey Guys

I have read somewere that Firefox is a hog, But I find IE7 just takes to long to load and has so much junk that comes with it.

What are you using on your dell?

    Thanks

    Oh sorry I use Firefox

I'm trying out Safari at the moment, I'm usually a Firefox user, to be honest I would rather just read html than use than IE7, it's rubbish (it can't even render html properly).

I'm starting to use Internet Explorer more often than before.

To be real honest, Firefox has been real buggy on my main system. It just seems bloated.

Tried FF once and didn't like it. Never had a problem with IE 6 or IE 7.

    Firefox = Memory hog
IE = Way to many threats..
Safari = CPU resource hog = Low Batterylife + Hot notebook.

I'll just upgrade add more memory to my notebook and go for firefox :)

Out of these 2, I'd use Internet Explorer 7.

    Opera - There's no time, like O time! :D

    Thanks guys

I used to use IE7 but it got so slow for page loading, there were so many add and pictures that would pop up even though I have pop up blockers on.

I like how secure Firefox is and find it faster, but it asks you for everything, but I suppose thats how its so secure.

One thing that I dont like about Firefox and other companies is that you need to open IE7 to open such things as you IP for networking and among other things that say you need IE7 Bla bla bla.

I don't know why but my IE7 ran VERY slow right after my reformat. Scrolling and page viewing had a delay, so i've been forced to use Firefox.

Even though Firefox constantly writes ot your HDD, it runs a lot zippier than IE for me.

M$ has some problems to work out before they can make IE competitive to Firefox

This will be a pretty subjective poll in my opinion. You will get to many of the holy zealot anti microsoft crowd callling IE crap. I use both and can honestly say I don't have a preference either way really. They both have their uses and issues. Firefox not so good with the widely supported microsoft technology Active X. IE has problems on some pages.

Use what you are most comfortable with and does the job for you. Listening to those who want to support the underdog mentality (Take back the web) tend to be on a crusade.

Kind of like the mac user who says macs are more secure.

MAXTHON 2.0! A lot of the nifty new features Firefox and IE eventually adopt/ed have been in Maxthon for quite a while.

    *looks at the poll*

OMG THERE ARE PEOPLE USING IE7?! *gasp*

Anyway... Firefox rocks. I remember using IE7 a few days ago, and I said, "ADS?!" lol I've never seen those in a long time..! I just can't imagine surfing without Adblock anymore. Of course just one of those extensions that rock. :)

I switched to Firefox some time ago however recent versions appear to have issues with one of my desktops... locks it up.

Played with Safari and Opera9 for awhile... have been using Flock for the last month or so... seems OK.

Yeah I've noticed that it's got worse ever since the last update. I know having a bigger memory helps but it ran fine with my 512MB and now the browser has been crashing on me every now and then. I wonder why...

I switched to Firefox two years ago and haven't looked back.
IE had to many problems such as virus problems, loading times too long, no spell checking etc. I use IE only to check to see if my customers websites loads and works on there too.

After reading some of the replies here, to gain a more realistic insight someone should perhaps consider adding an "Other" option on the current poll being taken.

canada16... I do not know if the current poll can be altered.

The results nonetheless are interesting. Perhaps even more interesting are some of the reasons for users preferences, likes and dislikes.

    Good Job!

I thinks it one of those battles

    Like AMD vs Intel

    I prefer AMD

But I got to say my T8300 on my 1530 aint that bad, core temps never go above 50 degrees. 60 with heavy gaming.

Back on track, I think Firefox has got a cult following and loyale fans.

It's not that IE has problems [although IT DOES [security mainly], albeit I haven't experienced it either. I surf safely! :)], but seeing as how better of an option Firefox is, I just can't imagine using IE again, except on a new computer to download Firefox :p

i personally use Firefox all the time, IE got too chunky and slow and i've never looked back since the switch, the only times i use IE7 is for certain sites where firefox isn't really usable (though that number is slowly diminishing, as extensions come out to work around the issues and more sites offer support for firefox, Ijji.com being one example).

whilst the Wii version lacks flash support (can't download new versions of flash on it), the opera browser on the Wii seems to be pretty zippy, even over a wireless connection, which makes for great fun watching youtube on the tv, i might give that a try-out at some point.

FF is still my no.1 choice though.
