I am on the verge of buying a Dell Inspiron 8600, but i am not sure if this lappy has an IR port or even a card reader. I could nt find any site mentioning this. Can someone please confirm this... and also from any 8600 users who could give me their feedback on this notebook would be appreciated. Thanks

There are no IR prorts, no LPT or COM ports on the new Inspiron. The old ones used to have but not the New one.

Hey Robko thanks for the information, but what about the card reader? does the inspiron 8600 have a SD or a MMC card reader? And i forgot to ask, does it have line in for mic and line out for audio etc to connect headphones and stuff. I could get the port replicator but then the mobility issue of the laptop for which i want for becomes a problem doesnt it.

Can you like please just write out the ports and connections available on the 8600, it will really help me make up my mind. Im not even sure if it has S video out. Thanks. My other options were Acer TM 4500 and the HP Pavilion zt3000.
