    IR remote?

    I dint order bluetooth or the tv thing, would I be able to use this remote for the dvd player or anything? Is it worth going back and ordering?

    I got the IR remote. Works just like you would expect an IR remote to work. It plays, pauses stops volumes up/down. + it is tiny.

    I dontknowexactlywhatan IR remote is... But I wouldnt have hadto get any extra programs or anything?

    IR = infrared (like your TV remote)
    The Inspirons come with an IR sensor thingy (I think).
    So no, you don't need bluetooth or the TV tuner to use it.
    You might need to do some stuff to set it up to work; I'm not really sure.

    The IR reciever automatically works with no setup, I have no software installed for it and it works great controlling DVD's and Media Player.

    I went back and ordered it, just search the Dell site for FW331 and you can get a refurbished one for about $16 with shipping.

    Can you use the IR remote with any laptop that has IR, or just Dells?
