    IS the Inspiron 1520 worth 100-150$ more then a Vostro 1500, they both have almost the same specs...

    No... not at all. The Vostro would be better if the prices were equal actually. It comes with less trial software and bloatware and even gives you the option to partition the drive. The Inspiron is worth NOTHING more than the Vostro. They're basically the same system with different colors... Vostro just has more options.

    I know this might sound dumb but what is Partiotioning the Hard drive? I thought that was only for Duel-Booting? Or maybe its for backing up?

    And Frankly Vostros look like crap Inspirons do look much cooler (not that, that is a big concern or anything :eek: )

    It's like creating a 2nd hard drive on the same one. You can use it for dual booting, you can use it to back up files, or if you just like a 2nd hard drive for some odd reason. It's useful.

    im defintly not going to duel boot and if the comp crashes wouldnt it delete the backup also?

    No it's treated as a different hard drive. Unless the hard drive completely dies you're fine. Like I have a recovery partition on my notebook too. If some kind of spyware or virus completely screws me over I start up my recovery partition. You really don't need a 2nd partition... it's just an option.
