    Hello

Got my packing slip details for another replacement Vostro 1500 with a WXGA+ truelife screen.

How can I find out what Screen I am getting from the item number??

I have had a search around but have drawn a blank. In a bit of a rush so I admit I did not search thoroughly

    Cheers

If your packing slip, like mine, has a 7 digit number, that number doesn't specify which manufacturer. The only place I've found a Dell part number is by entering the service tag number on Dell's site and looking at the details for my machine. My 15.4" LG WXGA+ screen has a Dell part number of XP059. The AUO 15.4" WXGA+ screen has a Dell part number of GU429.

I have gone through three vostro 1500 replacements in UK and finally got one with LG screen. All four vostro had the same item number in the packing slip. So I guess, you got to wait until you receive yours...
I even tried calling the tech support to know the LCD screen make when it was in 'delivery preparation' stage but they knew nothing more than what is on the packing slip.
