If I plan on hooking up a set of external speakers, is the Audiology software worth it?

Hey, I ordered the Inspirion 1520 and I plan to hook up a set of Klipsh Speakers to it.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...ategoryId=pcmcat110000050027&id=1176506346872

The real question here is, would the extra sound software be worth it to give those speakers any kind of extra punch? On a side note as well, any other suggestions as to which speakers would be worth getting? They would have to be from Best Buy though, since I do work there and get a pretty big cut on most speakers...

    Well, like someone previously mentioned.

There is no new hardware, it's all software sided, I'm sure you can find similar apps that do the same thing.

Since it's just software...it's not worth any money IMHO. Just use a decent media player with an adjustable EQ. The output will only be as good as the built in hardware which is mediocre at best.

If you have an extra $60 and space for the subwoofer, get the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 (which they do have @ Best Buy). They will sound way better...I've had a set for 6 yrs now and they still sound better than most all other computer speakers. But if you need portablility, they're obviously not great.

The main thing that I think the extra SW would be useful for is EAX emulation for games that support it.

no do not get it. you can only use the "sound" software if you use their music player "creative media player" and trust me its a piece of crap software thats hard to navigate.

just get the normal sound option and use itunes/wmp/winamp
    definitely not worth it

if you really want the "sound" software - go out and buy the actual sound card should be around 100 dollars - even then i don't really recommend it unless your a true audiophile
