As the topic says.. If I return my E1405 will I get one worse? Or should I ask for my money back and buy another one later.

I depends on how much patience you have! More than likely at this point based on all the feedback here ...a replacement would be the same or worse. Take the refund. Try again after reviews improve or when something new comes out (also check vendors other than Dell).

To be honest, there is no way to know for sure... unless you have fortune-telling abilities. For example, I just recently ordered two E1405's (at the same time w/ pretty much the same components) & one had problems that the other didn't.

If I return my laptop, by the time I recieve a replacement it would have been past the initial 15-21 days. Therefore, if the new one is worse, will I not be able to return it again for an exchange?

That's a good/interesting question actually. One thing is that you are not likely to get a brand new one after the initial 21-day return period. You would get a refurblished one instead. You may want to ask a CSR about this matter.
