Hello all, I'm new to this forum and hopefully ill be as helpful as everybody else here someday![]()
As for now im in dire need of advice. My Dell Inspiron E1505 AC adapter broke and im in a dilema of deciding if i should order the same type of adapter that came with my laptop. I looked at Dell's website and there were a few other types of ac adapters available for purchase for my model, the only thing is that im not sure if the other adapters (duracell ac adapter for ex.) would work the same way as my broken adapter. I'm not sure if it charges my battery while i use the adapter. I looked at the reviews and im not sure what to think of it. Any suggestions? or comments about the other adapters?
And again, Thank you all so much for support and help

im not sure and dont go by my opinion alone: wait till more people post.
I think however that the only thing that matters for the AC adapter is its power rating. So technically you could match any adapter with the same power rating and buy it cheaper. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Almost all Dell adapters have been compatible with each other for the past four to five years. I can pretty much use a 65W adapter from 2002 to power my D830. At the same rate, I can use my D830's 90W adapter to power my 500m.
You can pretty much buy any > 90W adapter from Dell with reasonable confidence that it will work with the e1505.

Any thoughts or opinion about this? -
Get either one... if it don't work, send it back. All you need is the Dell adapter with a current output (i.e. wattage...) that is at least as big or bigger than the one that your computer came with. I've used aftermarket, non Dell, adapters as well and they work just fine also. These things aren't rocket science, its just a simple transformer i.e it has no moving parts. You can also use a 65W adapter with a computer that came with a 90W adapter in a pinch. It does work... but it may shorten the life of the adapter. My son and daughter swap them back and forth between their Dell notebooks all the time and one is a 65W and the other is a 90W. They seem to work just fine on either machine. One is an Inspiron 9300 with a big battery and a power hog of a video card and the other is an Inspiron 640? Just a plain Jane 15.4 Dell notebook with the stock battery.
