Have had my new 6000D for a three weeks now. Finally got around to sticking a dvd in to play. I am suprised that the image quality is not that great. I have the wsxga+ screen and x300 video card. Are there any specific settings to change that would make the image quality better. Seems way too grainy.

    Thanks!

What are your settings for screen resolution? I am running Power DVD and the movies look great. Boy, I do miss the sound from the Harmon Kardon's on the DV 1000 I sent back, though. Sound is good but not great.

Screen resolution is 1680x1050 with 32 bit color. Using Power DVD. Just grabbed the kids Nimo dvd and its not as clear as I expect it to be. What other settings would effect this?

In the Power DVD settings do you have hardware accelaration on or off and enable eaglevision on or off?

I have the same problem. The DVDs I've played have been swimming with grain/noise. My settings are 1280x800x32 and I used PowerDVD 5, though not the version that came with the notebook.

BTW: Which is better: 1280x800 or 1280x768?
