Hey everybody. I am in the middle of installing 64 bit vista on my 1530. I downloaded the Zip file with all the files for AHCI and am following the reformat guide. When i open the files it just says it cannot install drive. can someone point me in the direction of the right driver?

It says The device driver could not be installed. Contact your vendor for an updated driver.

download the updated driver from Dell site, or the most updated driver from Intel

I looked for it but dell dosent have it for 64 bit. I downloaded the exe from intel and it just installed onto this desktop(which i dont know is a good thing). I also downloaded the zip one from intell which is the one ive been trying to use. Do you think i can use one from 1330?
Nevermind i think i found one. Thanks for the trouble -
If you are installing the ahci driver get the latest one here http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15251/eng/STOR_AllOS_8.2.3.1001_PV_Intel.exe
For some reason, the intel site still lists the older one when you go to the matrix storage tech page -
thanks but i got one from dell, lol i hope it works, it was dated from the beginning of 2008
