I'm sorry, I really need to vent, and I would love some advice on this one.
I ordered the special with the Timbuk2 messenger bag way back. Like 2-3 days after I ordered, the bag magically poofs off my order. I call customer service and they say that they will get it put back on. Long story short, they never did.
Like everyone else, my order was delayed twice, and the last time they called me at 8pm on friday night (8/8) threatening to cancel my order if I didn't call them immediately. I had to rush back home so I didn't have to start my month of waiting over. I told the guy on the phone all of the issues, and they said they would upgrade me to next day shipping. On top of that, they said it would be shipping on 8/9. Ok fine. Still no resolution on my bag. It doesn't ship 8/9. It does ship 8/10. Great I should get it monday right? Well 8/11 about 4:30pm I'm kind of tired of waiting around so I chat with DHL. She tells me that of course it will not be coming today because it is being shipped ground 3-5 days and will be here 8/13 at the earliest.
I call Dell and he states ah I see it's the first time you've called us about this order. No, I've called 4-5 times before. He refuses to stop reading his script and denies what DHL said. He said it is next day and I will receive it next day. It is already like 5pm, it just is not possible. So I email customer service and they finally admit today that they changed it to 3-5 day shipping. However, they can't possibly change shipping method once an order has processed. When I call them, they tell me that I must have made a mistake on both the shipping and the bag when I was ordering. I demand a supervisor and they refuse. She then tells me to use professional language, I hadn't sworn (at least not yet).
At this point I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I really need this computer, but I think I may refuse it when it comes tomorrow and refuse payment through my bank. I just can not believe that they would be behaving like this.

That's Dell for you. They enjoy lying to make people happy :smile:
I always laugh when I read on the forums about people being so happy that Dell upgraded to 1 day shipping because they never actually do. -
Yeah, I just think it was downright rotten to downgrade me even from what I had ordered.

See that is why I love Gateway! I got my comp in 3 days. Fast! And it came UPS, Perfect. DHL is ok they are speedy and nice. FedEx... well FedEx sucks.

A rep recently upgraded me to next day shipping but she said it wouldn't show up on my status, but it does. So I'm good to go?

I hate to say it, but it showed up on my status. In fact my order status still says next day.

I just called a Dell rep and asked her to upgrade me and she truthfully told me that there is no point because shipping info has already been submitted to the carrier. Even if she put it in the system, the carrier wouldn't get the info and still ship it 3-5 day.

That really sucks. Keep bugging bell about it and let them know your getting the BBB involved
