I'm not sure what to do anymore. I talked to a tech the other day about trying to get an LG screen for my 1280x800 and he said that all screens at my resolution would be grainy. He said I should request a return and reorder a high resolution screen on a new laptop. I called customer care and theyre sending a label to my email tonight, but I'm having second thoughts. He said once dell recieves my laptop it will take an additional 7-10 days to return the money to the DPA account. I can't wait that long, I've been using this laptop for my school work. My moms DPA account has a max of 1500 and this laptop is using 1300 of it so I can't order another off of hers until its refunded. I tried to apply for one under my name as I have a job, but I'm only 16 so it wouldn't allow me to apply. Another problem is that if I ordered another, I saved a configuration in a cart and I got an email today that said the XPS deal ends soon and they will save it until jan 14, then its gone. [heads up for anyone waiting to order, deal is ending soon!] I was hoping to take advantage of that deal and order a better spec m1530. It will be gone by the time the money is refunded to DPA.

I was also looking around online and I found a laptop I liked at circuit city, but its an HP[nice, and cheap so I could order right away] and I've always loved dell. Every computer in our house is a dell.

Should I continue with the return, wait extra time with the chance of no deals and ending up computerless? Should I return, and order a different computer brand? Or should I just accept this screen and be satisfied?

    Gah, decisions, I hate them.

Thanks for any advice, it is appreciated.

The tech talked to you is not helping . there is an Lg great 800X1280 . I actually have one right now and waiting to exchange it with another LG but the higher resolution.

So When I get turn down buy someone . I usualy hang up and call again and get another person to help. some of them are more helpful than others.. you can try gain. i wish that i have the part number for this great LG screen tha I have. I don't really want to take the computer apart because I'm not sure it will be written on it.
If I'm home when the tech come to replace mine I can see if there is a part #. Not sure when though..

I could try that again but last time the tech said that on a service call they cant do that. I already have the return label going to my email, is it too late? And I said a discount wouldnt make me keep the laptop, is it too late to get discounts if I do decide to keep it?

The only way to know for sure is to call. You may be able to get the discount if you tell them you changed your mind. You can cancel your refund autorization at anytime. Just call let them know and don't send the notebook.

    Thanks for the info!

I'm now debating between risking a higher priced m1530 after I return, or keeping this one and asking for another screen replacement, or returning and ordering this:

A lot cheaper that what I have now, and I was planning on maybe selling before I go to college 2009, and then I could get a high-end dell.

    Opinions?
