Although I ordered and received a 1520, I thought that the people that ordered a 1330 might be interested to hear this:
-
oh really? I ordered on the 24th and estmiated shipping date is sept. 06 2007.
-
Hey, don't kill the messenger, just thought you guys would be intersted. That sucks that they gave you such a far off ship date, but I suppose it's better then giving you a closer one and then you getting mad about delay, after delay, after delay, as happened with my original order for a 1505...

Thanks for the info!

Like I said 10 to 14 days before they ramp up production and there will be many things effecting the time you get your laptop from discounts used to what dept you ordered it from .
-
I seriously doubt the discounts would make a difference, as stated here I think the hardware in your new laptop would be much more likely to hold up the development of your laptop. It is just incredibly annoying that the line that is supposed to have the best service, the XPS line, is the one that they can't get sent out. That is their cash cow line, you would think they would have ensured the product of that line better then the Inspiron/Vostro's ( meaning the supply lines)
-
Well, I think the wait will be worth it for these machines. The m1330 looks very promising.
-
Yeah, they posted that information on the site already, but it seems little sketchy. To be honest, they're not that different from the Sony SZs and you'd think they'd give the production line a test run before launching the thing. That at least would have caught the problems earlier as opposed to raking in tens of thousands or orders then finding out, 'oops, our production process doesn't work too well.'
