Looking for more infos about new Dell notebooks? Just make a simple search on google by using the following keywords: dell + i6000 + core duo. Of course, you can see lot of links but if you are curious then you can find something definitively interesting on page 4! Download the Excel file hosted on ftpbox.us.dell.com. It is very strange that Dell authorizes google to rank such a link!!!

    Abaxter,

Open this file, go to the sheet '000-200s' and make a search on the word 'core duo'. Then? ;)

The E1505 according to that spreadsheet will have the same "base" cost as the I6400. That is kinda odd...but hey, good find.

Basically that tells that the xps m170 isn't getting the core duo chip for awhile. Could this be true?

We can't comment on things that we know regarding Dell notebooks, but I think it's fair to make the assumption that high end notebooks will be getting high end processors.

    Frack me! 36.4 MB spreadsheet!

While on the topic - I wonder if someone has a google desktop installed somewhere in Dell, and this was found via that route. I understand that google desktop, while indexing your PC for your own searches, also makes that info available to google. PLEASE NOTE - this is hearsay - I don't hvae any evidance to support it. But it is a (scary) theory.

ok the admins cant tell us what they know but i found out something VERY intresting that everyone seemed to skip. we all jumped ahead whoa the core duos. i made a 6000 on the website and put the ati card in so i could find out the product number. what this does than is tell me dells NEW gpu for the E1505 Ready?

    256MB ATI MOB RADEON X1400,I6400/E1505

also the best screen u can get is
    15.4 INCH TRUELIFE,WSXGA+,I6400/E1505

with that said ill point out another goodie

    256MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 7800 ULTRA,XPS M170

this was all found on page 4.. enjoy. and yes a E1505 is sounding very nice about now

I assume the 640m is a dual core version of the 630m (which is exactly what I'm waiting for, hopefully with a dedicated grahpics card.....and as long as I'm wishing, a shade thinner ;) ), and the 6400 is a DC of the 6000. What would the 1405 and 1505 be, or are they a new series?

The E series is Dell's full replacement to the 600, 6000, and 9300. If you haven't caught onto the naming scheme, it's E + screen size + 05. Dell started integrating this information into their product names starting with the XPS M170 (17") and M140 (14"). Now I wonder what that 05 is... It can't be year since these are 2006 products...

Help me out. Can't access the file any longer. Can someone check their spreadsheet and tell me if there is going to be a 14.1" machine with a good graphics card and at what price? I have a pre-order for another machine from another manufacturer and need to know whether I should cancel and wait. I have a suspicion that Dell will sell me a similar machine (even if uglier) for significantly lower price.

The update to the i6000d better have 1) a great video card 2) a screen that doesnt have light leakage ( my i6000d doesnt have hardly any, but i dont want to spend 1700+ on a notebook to have it have crappy light leekage.)

is non Truelife WUXGA still offered for I6400/E1505?
Need this info badly, trying to decide if I should return my I6000 and wait for 15 inch notebook with dual core. WUXGA without Truelife is a must for me so if no WUXGA offered than I'll stick with I6000. Big thanks!

I also have the file and can look up a few things if wanted (haven't got a clue how to post a 37MB xls file). So what's with these XPS 200, 400, 600 systems? Are they just names for current models? The 600 with Pentium 955EE with 4MB sounds nice!

P.S. The E1705 has reappeared, front and centre, on the US site, with a nice low price (maybe we already know this...).

EDIT: Never mind. Those are the desktop XPS systems (my bad).

    Thank you ceiph and Garbuckle:

I don't have much bandwidth on my server, so please consider this temporary:

The original spreadsheet (about 9MB zipped): http://tinyurl.com/b3bfv

There's also a "newer" version of the spreadsheet available. However, based on the number of SKUs, it looks like an older version (no DUO inside). The new one (about 6MB zipped): http://tinyurl.com/7bb82

Perhaps the one with the DUO is not supposed to be out (yet?).

Supposedly, the Inspiron E1505 will be coming out next month.
It apparently replaces the Inspiron 6000 and has the TrueLife
Screen as an option along with a separate video card. I was looking at the M140 and the 6000 at a Dell Kiosk in a mall and told the salesman that I liked the 6000 but wanted a screen like the M140. I pressed about whether there would be an
update of the 6000 and he admitted that it was coming in about a month and is designated the E1505.

I asked about Dual Core. He said that no, only the 17" models would be. He then went to the Dell website and showed me the staff training page which listed the specs for the E1505 so it is definitely coming out soon.

    That conflicts with the spreadsheet:

    E1505,CORE DUO T2400(1.83GHZ) S

I hope the guy you were talking to was wrong, because this is what I'm hoping to see next month. I can't imagine they won't have the Core Duo's in a 15" model-Sony's got one out now at the big retail chains? Waiting patiently......

Nice. Wonder if that's one of the pre configured systems. Maybe on the Home side, they'll have a seperate vid card option. That 6400 only has onboard video.

I also like it that whenever you click on the Cour Duo icon on their website the Latitude D810 pops up. Maybe that is the next one that they will update on their site.

Anybody have any luck with the above link? It just takes me to a page saying you need to adjust your order. I was able to find the i6400-but if you try to configure it and update price/ship date it goes to the same page I mention above. Weird, it's there but it's not? I guess it's coming soon though...I've been waiting for 2 months to pull the trigger and I'm getting anxious!
