I have an E1505 running vista and have the settings to maximize battery life. still whenever i unplug power and goto full battery, i only get about 3 hours of battery life, and that's hardly using the computer.
i need two questions answered if possible guys/gals please:
1. what other steps can i take to maximize battery life?
2. And, what is a "good" extended battery for this machine/ where do i find it?
lastly, i need the extra time while out and about, but fear adding another battery as the one i already have runs HOT as h$ll!!! i guess i can't have the best of both worlds!!
thx for your help in advance!

The E1505 isn't really known for outstanding battery life. 3 hours is acceptable for a computer of that size.
-
thx for the reply! any ideas on how to maximize battery life then?
-
the 9 cell is reported by various places to get 6 hours of battery life out of it. The dell one I mean.
-
is the 9 cell the battery that comes with the computer? i am definitely NOT getting 6 hours.
-
is there an extended battery option? is there another bay for a backup battery?
-
no love on the board?

3 Hours is normal...
:-\ -
Haha, I'm getting 5+ hours
I read that Vista is a battery hog... -
I'm getting 5-6 hours on my 6400 (E1505 equal) with the 9 cell battery. Vista uses more resources then XP does. That may explain it.

I get exactly 4 hrs. with the wifi turned off with screen brightness at half full. I also have the X1400 dedicated video card which uses more power as well... so you have to take that into account.
I have a 620 at work with the hi capacity battery.. it gets about 5.5 hrs. with the same setup and it has a dedicated video card as well. -
darn. well that sucks!
hey matt, i'm a halo fan as well!! -
can anyone point to a site that shows me how to conserve battery power. i think i have a 9 cell, and i only get 3 hours if i'm lucky running vista. how do i dumb down vista?
any ideas?
