Inpiron 1520 - More pictures just for YOU!

well, i got my 1520 after 6 business days. as i understand this might have upset some people that have waited for a long time...so i wanted to post some pictures so they feel that this waiting is worth it.








the exhaust vent for the video card with the fan located under the notebook.
the cooling system has been great so far.


comparing with my current 15.4" gateway notebook.

wow i actually really really like the black/silver from your pics.. very good pics.. i was so torn on changing the color i think ill just leave it alone now.. thanks .. i have had the vostro's here in person and just was unsure about the black siver combo..

yea the black looks so nice in person, its kinda professional looking too which is good cause im taking it to college and dont wanna seem like the kid that lives with his pc.

anyways. i am yet to try a game on it since i lost my Steam password LOL...
just finished a clean install of vista..it is running much better now.
the screen is 1280x800, and i dont think i'll overclock...this is even more than ill ever need...i just got a bargain

yeah and i own a business and this will be sitting on my desk all day so i figured the black would look nice, i REALLY WANTED the blue.. then the white... the black was actually my third choice, but i work on cars all day and my wife made a very good point about the white lid and dirty (think oil, electric tape goo etc...)hands will make short work of the white.. even though i am totally ocd with my laptops.. i settled on the black and i think from the pics i actually like the 1520 better then the all black of the vostro.. i like the silver inside its a nice contrast

The blue is so dark you really have to be looking up close to tell its blue and not black, looking at Mordeth's pics it looks just like my Midnight blue lol

How come some people got Core Duo 2 Stickers and other people got centrino duo stickers? I got a Centrino sticker :|

 

If you order it with the Intel wireless card, then you should get a Centrino sticker. With another card, such as the Dell (Broadcom) card, it doesn't qualify as "Centrino", so they "downgrade" you to the Core 2 Duo sticker.

Looks nice, I really like the black. I'm getting a Latitude though so I didn't get to pick any colors, but if I went with an Inspiron I would have chosen the black myself!

tell me how the gaming goes and what the fps for steam as in cs or cs:s.

also installing clean vista ? what do you mean? wish I can find some site what it does or w/e since I don't know much about the new vista or anything good about laptops ^_^

 

Clean install just means he formatted it after getting it and thus has a "clean" (just as MS made it without any Dell bloatware) installation.

 

i just ran Counter Strike and it gets 60fps constant.
havent had time to get HL2 but i will let you when i do this is a great computer


btw doing a clean install really helps the performance!

I sure am glad to hear you like the 1280x800 glossy. I was afraid I'd made a mistake not ordering the hi-res screen. I still haven't opened the box yet. I'm just sitting here staring at it, wondering if it's really here or a figment of my imagination.

 

Who knows? I took my stickers off anyways.
