    Hi,

Just got an Inspiron 9400 (2-3 weeks old) that is used with an external monitor.
I've set On Lid close "do nothing" in Video Properties, however as soon as lid is closed the laptop goes to sleep.

Already flashed to A01 BIOS and tried VGA and DVI cables with the same result.
Called Dell (they are so clueless!) and their only option is to reformat. So I am trying to figure out if there is any other way of getting this thing to work as reformat = 2 days downtime for me.

    Thanks

check your power options through quickset, ive noticed that quickset is a little *****y like that sometimes. I would just exit quickset..only thing then is that your some of your Fn + other keys wont work
