Dell replaced my Inspiron 1721 with an XPS M1730. I have a question though. Dell has not informed me to return my Inspiron to them. Customer Service & Tech Support did not tell me to do this and I did not receive a return shipping label or any kind of paperwork to facilitate a return of the old device....so....what do I do????

They usually send you one in a plastic bag on the box, but they will send you one again in the mail with the instructions how to pack your old laptop in the box.

Contact Dell and have them send you the needed paperwork, etc. to get your Inspiron 1721 returned to them, respectively.

You should've received all that!

    Cin ;) :)

As iElSayed said, it is with the packing slip attached to the outside of the box it was shipped to you in.

Just put your INS into the box they shipped the new one in.

I didn't receive the return label. There also was no packing slip...in its place was some weird Customs Form, that was used by the shipping Company to deliver it to me. I think this was a return from an overseas country. I didn't get one of those packing sheets that contains the specs of the machine, either. No paperwork whatsoever.

When my inspiron 8600 was replaced, after some days (not sure, how many days after) I received in USPS a ground shipping label from a company called Onprocess, saying that I should use the box that i got my replacement notebook to send in my old notebook. So if you did not receive any shipping label with your new notebook, it is likely you will receive one later.

Onprocess also mentioned that if i did not send the old notebook back, they will cancel the existing warranty on the new notebook.

    Hope this helps :)
