The colored ones don't mar as easily, so go with one of those. Also the purple one looks purple-pink to me.

Go with the black for lower cost. Then, to dress it up, do a search on eBay for "laptop skins". You can find them for around $8 or less. They look much better than a single-colored laptop, and also serve to protect your cover in case you want to remove the skin some day.

Yes you did post this on the owners thread, please don't cross post - it just makes work for the moderators.

I can only comment on the black one. Mine has no marks at all, yet I use it heavily (every single day since I got it about 6 months ago or something), and I carry it into work most days too.

You also asked about the glossy display; it's not really any different to any other glossy display. They give better colour reproduction as a general rule, but are useless to use in bright sun light. However, to use indoors you just simply get used to the reflections and automatically tune them out. Our brains are wonderful things :)

    Super!
So, you have matte balck, not glossy black ?
Are you recommending that laptop? It have what I need and it's a budget laptop.I'm only worried for scratches.
    Other choice is Toshiba L 300 .

    (Sorry for my english)

No question go with the Dell. And maybe get a clear skin if you afraid it will scratch. Inspiron Invisible Shield

I tend not to so after about ~3-4 years I buy another notebook. :)

If the choice is between the Toshiba L300 & the Dell Inspiron 15, I'd say go for the Dell.

Yes I have the matte black one. The inside however is glossy and has the potential to get scratched. Mine has a few small ones inside from the cuff links I wear at work. Otherwise it would not be scratched.

It's difficult to actually recommend it 100% though as we don't know enough about what you want from a notebook. I'd recommend posting in the "What notebook should I buy" forum, making sure your post includes the FAQ. That way you can get non biased opinion from other forums members. It's worthwhile posting in there though saying you are considering the notebooks you are considering.

There are a great many other things to consider, as I said, the best idea is to go to the "what notebook should I buy" forum and fill out an FAQ in that forum. Gut feeling is that the Inspiron will be fine, but better to get many opinions in an unbiased forum - posting in the Dell forum is likely to be biased toward Dell :)

Not really. It comes on every now and again at full speed. When playing games it can be loud, but only if you are in a quiet room

It's annoying when it's running. If you're listening to something it is barely noticeable, but if let's say you're studying in the library, like I am doing right now, it can get on your nerves. I wish it could be on low speed all the time instead of the on/off it is.

There are actually many speeds it runs at, trying running OCCT for 20 minutes and you'll see that it can go much faster; just that the slowest does seem to be a little too fast and hency noisy in a quiet room. In any other room it doesn't really matter.

But if you go with the intel graphics solution the fan noise should be reduced. Additionally, you can undervolt your CPU to reduce temperature and therefore the amount the fan turns on.

It depends. You can turn the 4330 onto power saving mode, so probably not; especially if you undervolt and considering you're probably not going to be taxing the computer that hard in a library anyway.
