I've just discovered that my laptop is now crashing when I attempt to write to an SD Card with the onboard reader/writer.

I can open files already on the card but each time I try and save to the card it instantly crashes the system.

It never used to do this as i've copied many files to the SD Card previously.

    Any ideas?

Did you do a driver update? If so, rollback. If not, update. Anything like a chipset, media card reader, or mobo update could have done it.

You might also want to scan the SD card with scan-disc to look for errors...the file allocation table or data might be corrupted, thus possibly causing the issue.

But I'd copy all your files on the SD card to another drive, to protect the data.

i get a crash too, though when i just stick in a pro stick duo card in an adaptor. something about "bad pool head" is the error with blue screen and it says its dumping all physical memory or along those lines. other cards are fine, just that one.

when i hook the camera that uses the card via usa cable, its all good...just not when then card is put into the reader....

I'll have a look tonight and see how things go - I'll do a driver check first of all. :)
