I have read alotof criticism of the durability of the Inspiron frame and case design, and I was curious if there was any difference between the Home Inspirons and the small business Inspiron models.

Generally speaking, the Business models usually have better build quality, and that seems to be the case with other manufacturers. However, Dell uses the same chassis on most of the home and small business sector notebooks, so I would imagine that build quality would be the same. Something which may be different is technical assistence. Business support should be better.

The Inspirons are exactly the same whether you buy them at the Dell Home store or the Dell Small Business store. In some cases, they're named differently, but they're still exactly the same. The differences are in model numbers, pricing, and sometimes available options, for example, a particular processor option might be available only at one store or the other. Also you'll get tech support from a different group, I think. But... same machines, just a different sales channel. It's the Latitude line (D series) that has better build quality.
