    Hi,

I've had a P4 Dell Inspiron for four years with no problems (besides the scorching heat)... yesterday, in the middle of writing an email, my keyboard suddenly stopped working. I can still use the mouse and access programs but none of the keys work. I tried restarting a couple of times but unfortunately no luck.

Any ideas? Is the computer fried and it's time to replace... estimates on how much this would cost to repair?

    Thanks!

pop open the keyboard and make sure the connection is ok (dirty? unplugged?). try reseating the cable. at least make sure that is ok before you start doing a bunch of configuration/software fixes which won't do you any good if it is a faulty connection.
