Dell was nice enough to send NotebookReview.com a review unit of the Inspiron 1000.
I'll be honest, I got the unit a couple of days back and haven't even booted the thing up yet...ummm...just kind of busy right now. Not many people ask about this notebook, I know this is because the average buyer (especially those on this site) spends between $1200 - $1500 and a $799 laptop is kinda cheap and just plain not up to snuff with what you guys want. All the same, I'm interested to see what $799 buys and what Dell is trying with this basement bargain notebook. So stay tuned for a review in the next couple of weeks! woo hoo!

Did you get a chance to check out this system? My gf wants a laptop and won't do anything but email on it, so I was considering this model. Thanks

OK.. to tell the true this computer is a hyper-low-level computer. sis chipset. only 512mb max memory and shared 64mb max video. i mean.. c'mon.. this is the CHEAPER computer ever. i don't even like the chassis...
