Hey all my friend has an Inspiron 1150 and has a probably turning on. For some reason even when plugged into the outlet it wont turn on, so we opened it up and tried re soldering the power connector to the board and still nothing. Anything I can do maybe buy a new power piece?

Does anything happen at all - LEDs come on, fan noise, HDD noise, BIOS?

Why the heck would your first port of call be to get the solder out? Did you test the power supply with a meter? That would have been one of the first things I did if absolutely nothing happened; then maybe confirm the connection between the power button and the system board.

well the power was working but you had to play with the wire. it now wont even charge the battery or turn on since the battery cant charge. When I click the power nothing happens.

Had to play with the wire? You mean the input into the laptop?

What it now wont turn on now you've soldered the power connectors or before you took this action?

Do you have access to any electrical measuring equipment? Would be good to try to find out at which point the power is failing.

Hmmm, well if all that is true then it sounds like you probably did the right thing to be honest. Not sure why it's not working now, maybe have another go at the solder; perhaps it's not held properly?
