I'm a new member here and I'm looking for some help. I just purchased a Inspiron 1150. After many hours of removing all the "standard" software, updating everything and making it operate just the way I want it, I discovered one last problem. I purchased a Micro mouse since I'm not a touch pad kinda guy. The mouse works great, however I can't disable the touchpad . I hate when I'm typing and all of a sudden I prush the pad and my work heads off to never naver land or I have to find my place again, delete out all the jarbled text that was inserted where I didn't want it, ect.. How do I disable this last anoyance? I hope someone here can help. This is my first LT ever and it's already driving me nutz.

    Welcome....
I don't know if you can disable it completely, but you can make it where it won't click anywhere when typing...goto control panel-->mouse-->touchpad-->make sure the tap off when clicking is checked. Also you might want to adjust your Touch Sensitivity.

    Hope this helps,
    SG

i been into all of that, I have 2 mice listed: HID Compliant Mouse (that's my micro) and PS/2 Compatable mouse. I can disable my micro, but if i go into my PS/2, there are no options for click, disable or anything. I'm lost!

It sounds like you went into Device Manager; that's not what Southern Girl mentioned. Go to Control Panel and double-click "Mouse"--you should get a dialogue box with several tabs. Oneof those should be "Touch Pad," and on that one there is a checkbox for "Tap off when typing." Hope that helps.
