I recently acquired a Dell Inspiron 1200.without a HDD. Put in a new Hdd and tried a couple of others as well and the HDD's are not being detected. When I try to load a XP pro, when it comes to installing, it says there is no HDD detected.I saw it run with the old HDD before I purchased, but the owner wanted th old HDD destroyed, But it definately worked . ANY IDEAS??

What Commander Wolf said, or the port on the motherboard is bad.
