I've been through half a dozen units over the last week (literally, no exaggeration). They seem to have the following build issues.

Physical build quality issues, all units (in various combination of the following)
    1. The base/bottom of the laptop doesn't rest flat against a flat surface (it wobbles as you type if you're an experienced typist - i.e. your wrists are in mid-air as you type).
    2. Power button is slanted at an angle.
    3. Volume down button requires a deeper press for the action to get acknowledged.
    4. When the laptop is physically closed (lid closed/down), the display's corners (closest to you) are not inline with /aligned to the base of the unit. The corners are shifted/skewed to the right.
    5. The three USB ports have different tightness. In extreme cases, a USB device can easily be electronically disconnected while physically still plugged in.
    6. The touchpad maybe ever so slightly off-centred (more to the left).
    7. The texture on the cover (the other side of the LCD panel) is not consistent with the rest of the unit, nor is the texture uniformed across the cover itself.

Any possibility that these are cleared up in the new "Special Edition" model that uses Aluminum instead of plastic?

I haven't seen the Special Edition in person yet, but would like to know how it compares to the XPS13, both in build quality and features.
