    Hello

I've had an Inspiron 13 7000 7347 for a year and a half. Now, the CPU fan makes a buzzing, droning, and grinding sound. I know how to take out the fan, but is it possible to open fan itself to put in a drop of oil?

    Thanks a lot

If you take it out, might as well put in a $12 replacement off eBay

I'd like to avoid replacing the fan and repair it, any way to open fan so I can drop oil in?

Maybe, but it's unlikely to be a lasting fix. And if you overdo it, you'll have oil inside your laptop. A replacement fan will last longer.

With the machine tools I work with, a rattling bearing is replaced, not oiled.

That's fine, I'm looking for a temporary fix right now. That's why I plan to use just one drop of oil. True, but I do not want to buy a replacement fan every year or so. By the way, this is the first time I've had a laptop fan do this on me.

Alright, but this is about a laptop fan, not machine tools. Any idea how to open the fan itself?
