Hey whats up, this is a friends Dell computer that is having this issue as I normally don't post anything in the Dell NBR forums. The computer is OOW however while it was in warranty the battery has been replaced, the Adapter and the computer was sent in once and I do believe they left the MoBo intact.

    ISSUE:

The battery will not charge at all. The OS ( Vista, 32 bit ) will recognize a battery I believe and state its plugged in but not charging. I have unplugged everything and held in the power button with no luck. In addition I updated the BIOS to the latest version which is A06 released Jan 15/10 and I see no difference. Sometimes the charging was finicky, as in sometimes it would or would not charge. However as of now its just not charging.

Anyone else heard or seen this being a common issue with this type of Lappy? Is there any kind of 3rd party software out there that anyone uses to check via verify battery health? I feel its the MoBo because I can't see the OS being the problem considering the battery will not charge even when the computer isn't on.

I could be wrong thinking its the MoBo and it could be a dumb Vista Software problem.
