Hi,
I have an Inspiron 1300 (ordered in Ireland) with a Broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller as a wireless adapter.
I can connect to my Linksys wireless router WRT54G in unsecured mode and in WEP mode, but when I changed to WPA mode, I couldn't connect to the wireless network. In Windows XP, I was told continously "waiting for network to respond".
Can I assume that my 1300 doesn't have WPA support, or is there something else wrong?

well, we need to know which wireless adapter you have. the broadcom chip is the wired nic.

1. Update your drivers.
2. Make sure you have installed the WPA updates for Windows XP SP2: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893357 -
Thanks for the help.
I was able to connect after installing the WPA updates for XP SP2. I would have thought that this would have been automatically updated :/
