I'm have a 1300 with a 14" screen and I've been regretting not having opted for a 15 incher back then.

So I was wondering if the 1300 has the same chasis for both 14" and 15" and would it be possible for an upgrade to 15" through Dell?

You mean you have a 15.4" laptop and a 14" screen, right? If so, you can probably upgrade, but the operation would be a little expensive and difficult.

That's what I'm not sure about. From the reviews I've read the 1300 seems to have the same chasis for both 14" and 15", where only the screen housing would be different as the edges would be trimmed down to accommodate a 15" panel.

So maybe someone can confirm this to be the case?

Honestly, i would advise against it. It will cost around $150-200 do do the operation. In my opinion, you would be better off selling the laptop as is and take that money you were going to spend to upgrade the panel and grab one of those 399 vostro 1000 deals they have every once and a while. The laptop will undoubtedly be better than what you have as well.
