It was working fine just yesterday and now the thing won't turn on. The charger had some issues. I had to have the cord bending a certain way just to get it to work when it was plugged in since the battery dies so fast. When I try to power it on, there are no lights, nothing. But the AC adapter has a green light on. Any help would be appreciated.

Try re-seating your memory, and try one DIMM at a time in each slot

How do I go about doing that? And will it cause me to lose files?

Take out the RAM and put it back in? You will not lose data from reseating RAM...

Considering that you had issues with the charger, have you tried replacing that first?

Otherwise you probably have some motherboard fault and should probably consider a new laptop.
