    Inspiron 1318 will not shut down

    Greetings,

    I bought my laptop in March 2010 from the manufacturer. I have been very satisfied until recently. The first issue started with the screen blinking or flickering. Now it does not shut down. After five minutes the last time I just manually shut it down.

    I would appreciate any advice at all. I hate to think I bought a lemon.

    Need more details... what happens when you try to shut it down? Does it do nothing at all or does it get stuck at like "Windows is shutting down"? Does it do the same thing if you press the power button or if you shut down from the start menu?
