    Hello guys,

I was checking out the Inspiron 14 laptop...Did online searches for reviews, but apparently, there aren't many reviews out there. I read the "Student Buying Guide" review, but that wasn't in depth. CNET hasn't covered this either.

So I wanted to know, how is the durability on these laptops. Would these be fairly durable and stand up to daily use and being carried around in a backpack.

Also, are there any heat issues with this laptop?

If you're an Inspiron 14 owner, please comment.

    Thanks

I saw this laptop at Best Buy a while back. It sold out and now they no longer carry it. Hard to believe they never replenished their supply. When they did have it, it seemed like a pretty nice laptop but it did ffeel a bit plasticy if you know what I mean (It is a budget laptop after all). I did like the looks of it though. It would be nice if someone who bought one of these would give their impression of it though.

I have the Inspiron 1545 and there are no heat issues. I checked with Speedfan and core temps are well within spec even with heavy use and hard drive temp is around 40 C on average. As long as the fan vent isn't blocked, I would say heat is not an issue. I don't know about Inspiron 14, I'm assuming there aren't that many differences though.
