I recently bought the Inspiron 13 from BestBuy for $650 and I haven't played around with it too much, but my biggest peeve is the fact that the charger for my E1505 is incompatible with the 13.
I may very well return it because of this because I really hate having to pack up and carry a charger with me. My office at work uses Dell Latitude laptops that use the same charger as my E1505 and I mainly wanted to use my new 13 at school and just leave a charger in my office there (I'm a grad student) and not have to worry about it. You might ask why not just leave my 13 at school then if that's a problem? Well, sometimes I might need to bring my E1505 to school, or my 13 home.
Does the Inspiron 1420(?) use the same type of charger that the 13 uses or would it work with the charger that my E1505 uses?
It's a bummer because I really like the size of the 13. It's small and compact but powerful enough for my needs.
On a related note, I could have sworn I saw a base configuration Inspiron 1420 start at $499 on the Dell website yesterday. I can't find it anymore. Was I seeing things? I really don't think I was and even got to add it to my cart and configure it.

Why don't you get one of those targus universal notebook chargers? They come with lots of tips so you can just interchange em quickly.

Well, unless someone has both laptops side by side to try it, I doubt you'll get any answers. Also, Best Buy has a 15% restocking fee from what my experience returning a laptop.
