This is a response to my previous post, I went online and asked Dell what the trouble was. My laptop has been in production since the 17th and my EDD was the 7th (last Friday). Here's their response. What do you think I should do? Call and ask for a discount?

Me: Hello, I'd like the shipping status of my Dell laptop. I was told the estimated delivery date was last Friday, Septermber 7th. Can you please give me the tracking information for the shipment?
    CCare Rachel M:
Your order won't be shipping until September 20th 2007
CCare Rachel M: It will arrive approximately 5 to 6 days after that.
Me: It's absolutely critical that I get this for school, there must be some way to speed this up.
Me: Would it help if I adjusted the components on the laptop?
CCare Rachel M: No, because to do that you'd have to cancel the order and wait again from the beginning.
Me: If I ordered another model would it be faster?
CCare Rachel M: Unfortunately no. All models are currently on back order.
Me: Well, thank you. My order status page does not indicate this new shipping date, when will it change to accommodate this?
CCare Rachel M: That will change in a few business days

I think Dell do not need order deadline, because I find Dell never post on time recently.

UPDATE: Well this is odd. Today my order status page indicated that my Inspiron had completely finished production and boxing and has been shipped. I even have the Purolator tracking information! :D :D I wonder why the rep told me it wouldn't get here till the 25th at the earliest...

I hope they're not sending an empty box to buy themselves some time, LOL. ;)

    YAY!!!! :p
