I try to format my laptop to vista ultimate from xp.
after i format, finish install windows, when it reading windows, it keep showing: safe mode... start windows normally.
if i click start windows normally. it will auto restart.
when i click repair. it will show: startup problems.

It mean that cd problem or my laptop can't be install windows ultimate?

It sounds like the operating system just didn't install properly. Inspect the disk for scratches/scuffs, and reinstall Vista.

Vista Ultimate doesn't require any special drivers; Vista drivers are universal, regardless of whether you have Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, etc.

if you install vista x64 you need to load AHCI drivers during install phase. Check on this forum and you will find the drivers. (Intel's one)

    try reformatting and reinstalling?

all drivers are on the dell site.. vista versions dont matter jus get the 64 bit ones..

and if all else fails, move on to windows 7 or call dell and get annoyed!
