    Inspiron 1420 Keyboard (Fn Key) issue

    My wife has an Insprion 1420. Since 2 weekends ago it is behaving like the Fn key is locked in the ON position. Keys on the keyboard are giving their Fn value or function (Esc puts the PC to Sleep). I have reseated the Keyboard ribbon cable and reattached the keyboard (I do this for a living) and that seems to fix the issue for a few minutes, then it starts up again.

    The odd thing is that this carries over through a restart into the Dell Bios splash. When the problem is happening I cannot get into the BIOS because the system thinks im hitting Fn+F2, not just F2.

    I have seen a thread here with similar problem but cant find it now for some reason. Has anyone run into/fixed this issue on their Dell?
