Hey guys, the pictures are below as attachments. I haven't found many good espresso brown pics on here, so I hope mine help. It may not be the most attracting color, but I think it's a perfect blend of formality and style and will fit all kinds of situations, formal or informal. And as someone noted earlier, it looks black in most lightings.
First impressions: Solidly built, very nice Microsatin finish (although a tiny dot by the Dell logo missed the Microsatin finish and looks matte...I'm a little OCD about it, but I'll just pretend that it's got personality), a little heavier than I would have liked, the screen is definitely NOT grainy (AUO), although I think my mom's Latitude screen does edge it out JUST a bit, overall very satisfied.
I haven't done much with bloatware. I'm not an expert, so I'm naturally hesitant about tweaking a new computer. But I may remove some stuff as I find them unnecessary.

Can you take a picture of it on or next to something black? It is hard to get an idea of how brown it is without a reference. Those pics show a lot of variation in the color just from the lighting conditions and your camera is likely auto-"correcting" the color a bit too without a black reference in the frame.

also do you have light bleeding... seems to be a large issue right now thanks

Just a few more pics.

For a black object look for something like a stereo receiver or some speakers. You could have those sitting in front of you right now, and you are so used to looking at them they blend in now
-
that brown color looks kinda washed out.

I got one of these, its a very dark brown, almost black brown colour. It looks awesome! Don't let these pics fool you, as its definatly an amazing looking colour. My of my furnature is dark brown coloured wood so it matches my room perfectly.
But anyay, my screen had very bad light bleeding and the screen was so reflective. Also, I was unable to find a proper viewing posion for the screen so it would not look dull/grainy. So I had to return it and I got a xps m1330 which is much better screen wise. -

Here you go. I took some pics next to the a black remote and a black phone. I hope those help more.
1 and 4 are probably the best. -
Awesome, I think that's a great color

very nice i do like it also..
-
How long did it take to get build and shipped out?
-
It looks grey compared to the black references.
Also, it matches well with your living room; couch and coffee table. -
Looks nice. Fresh laptop must feel good, too.
-
And I appreciate all your comments. I do like the laptop a lot. If you're choosing colors, I'd strongly recommend this color if at any time you may need it at formal places. Otherwise from what I've seen, I like blue as well. But espresso brown is my favorite.
I don't think the laptop is grainy and I don't notice any light leakage. -
thank you for the photos, it helped me make my decision : )

I also got the Espresso Brown. It's has rubbery feeling. Almost feel like it's a coating of rubber on the lid.
The color has a bit of goldish metallic color in it, especially look under the light. I would call it "golden brown". It also looks professional if use as business laptop. Also, it does not get finger prints easy compare to HP imprint lid. -
While you're taking pics, could you snap one of how the screen itself looks? I'm torn between the lower-res, anti-glare and the higher-res, glossy screen.

nice pictures man! thanks for the comparison with the black objects. looks good. mine is delayed till after the weekend from this thursday. so i wont get to play with it over the weekend.
