Now, I know that a thread has been made about this before, but I can't seem to find it. So I decided to just make a new one.
The left palmrest on the 1420, for me, seems to get quite warm quite fast, and I'm not sure if this is the case with ALL 1420's, or just certain ones.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. But besides the warm left palmrest, I love my new lappy!

Some heat is normal. I'm not sure where the hdd is located on the 1420, but I'd bet money that it's below the left palmrest. Hard disks get hot as they work.

It's hardly noticeable though on my 1400 which is basically the same thing.

Waveblade, would you mind test your 1400 for its wi-fi catcher function in power off status and let us know whether it's functioning in power off? thanks.

Shouldn't it? I thought that was one of the selling points of the "wi-fi catcher".

I do have another question; is the warm palmrest a side affect of the other Inspiron notebooks, like the 1520 and 1720, or is just this one?
