Yea, you read the title right. My sister's 1420 arrived today, and right now I'm setting it up for her, making sure shes protected and all that crap. As I'm typing, the laptop keeps on bouncing from one pad to another. Its like when you sit on a chair thats missing part of its leg, and it rocks from side to side depending on where you put pressure on it. I can hold one side down, and push the warped side down and it makes contact correctly.

This is annoying, I didn't know dell shipped out warped computers 0_0.

Guess its getting sent back then

Are the feet in the right place? Because really that whole bottom exterior is a single piece of magnesium alloy, its not likely to be bent.

I think it's the entire laptop that's being warped here...

Please verify that it isn't missing any rubber pads.

I have the same problem with my M1330. I can't quite figure out if it's a pad is shorter than the others or if the whole base is warped. (No, not missing any rubber feet.)

In any case, Dell is sending me a replacement system.

I had the same problem with my first 1420. I checked out the feet, they were fine. It was the casing that was warped. I chatted with Dell Support and they sent me a replacement.

    Definitely let Dell know.

Are you sure its not the table? Its much more likely to be warped due to uneven flooring rather than a laptop to be warped.

If the laptop is actualy warped then !.! Zomg. send it back and be like "Dude, Wtf!" Tech support may give u something in return (They might upgrade the HDD or something)

I don't suppose that would work with an Inspiron though -- it's a bit plump to bend easily.

Yep. All the feet are on the table correctly. And all the pads look fine. I have my laptop in the spot where hers was, and its fine. I guess we will be sending it back and getting a replacement then.

Hmm, I wonder why some of the laptops are warped like that. Maybe something wrong in the factory.
