Do these laptops have the headphone noise issue the 1520 has?
-
no noise for me... i have 1400
-
1400 for me and yes I have noise
-
noise as in interference noise or noise as in its normal noise?
-
Vostro 1400 here, and yes definitely some interference noise.
Can only hear it when nothing is playing or there's a quiet song on. Very irritating, so you wouldn't want to have your headphones on unless you have music on the entire time to block it out. -
I have a 1420 and can't hear any noise or interference through the speakers or the headphones.
Edit: I have the built-in sound, not the sound card add-on that's now available. -
Did you hear anything with no music going?
-
No noise on my 1400.
-
Admittedly my hearing is not what it used to be, but I did try this and there was only the slightest amount of hiss or crackling in the background, barely detectable.
-
according to the other topic 68.52% of vostro and inspiron models have the audio jack interference sound problem.

No noise on mine. No complaints about the screen either. Just that my \ key is already going bad, so I'll have to ask to replace the keyboard at some point.
-
only on my speakers that are powered by the AC...i think its a grounding problem...that is that the vostro/inspiron AC adapters dont have grounding pins?
-
Oh wow so what do you know, my Vostro stops making noise when I disconnect the AC.
Thanks
-
nope. still there. same issue with the 1520. i unplugged the AC, and it did get noticeably quieter but not silent... still there....
what are your specs? im just curious.
Inspiron 1420 and Vostro 1400. Headphone noise, YES or NO?
