    Hi all,

Well I logged onto the Dell UK site this morning to see how much the Inspiron 1420 I wanted was going to cost me only to find it wasn’t there. The new 15" Inspiron is available as is the XPS 1330 but no 14" model.

I contacted a Dell representative about this and was told no decision had been made as to whether or not the 1420 would come to Europe. I really can't understand why they would do this? It now means I will buy a 14" HP Pavilion instead when really I would have liked the Dell model...

Any thoughts? Do Dell often stagger their releases?

Have you found any alternatives? Dell and HP were my first two options so not to sure where to look now. I am quite interested in Asus notebooks but havn't come across one of similar style.

I was also considering Asus but was a bit wary as never owned one before and not sure their warranties would match hp or dell - get the impression you’re kinda on your own after purchasing an Asus.

Have been following thread below which seems to cover exactly what I want and includes a couple of Asus models.

Just got a call from HP telling me that the dv2500 is now available in the UK with dedicated graphics :)
Unfortunately they failed to mention that this new version is only offered with a lowly T5450 cpu :(
