I just spoke with a Dell rep, and also chat with one.
For 1420 NVIDIA website states the video ram is 128mb
The Dell rep states that 64mb is dedicated and other 64 is shared with system RAM.

    Is this true?
    I am very confused.
I thought 128mb is dedicated and there was additional shared with system RAM.

HP 2500 series has 64mb dedicated and like 300mb shared.

I was about to order a 1420 Inspiron thinking 128mb was dedicated and there was 300 or so shared, but now I am really confused and am holding off.

    Anybody has any additional info?

    Uh oh, don't do that...

Slightly less bad maybe, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

    Yeah...

Dell reps are mostly pretty clueless; you may as well just flip a coin.
...Except for YoJr, who posts around here sometimes; he's pretty good, and that's probably why he's not a Dell rep anymore, lol.

I would completely ignore anything any rep says. The spec sheets are most likely correct. If you don't want to take any risk, you can always wait until someone gets one and posts about it here.

I think that 128MB is dedicated.... for the 8400 and increases depending on the amount of RAM you have
