yes worry. I've been desperately trying to fix this on my M1530, seems like no model is safe... only disabling the wireless card works :|

also install the latest wireless card drivers, especially the Intel ProWireless network connection drivers (if your laptop uses Intel wireless network devices) and the latest Intel Matrix Storage manager software.
and don't forget to defragment your hard drive. A well defragged hd can also reduce the occurrence of scratchy/choppy sounds on your machine. Also shut down or prevent some programs & services from loading at startup. when we first bought our Vista based desktops/laptops, they may come pre-installed with some stuff that we don't really need and can slow the machines down. I got rid of some stuff from my mom's Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop, installed the latest audio & wireless drivers AND defragged the hard drive and I no longer get any more scratchy sounds there, even with an active wireless internet connection. -

This problem is very annoying. I tried many suggestions on this thread and none of them really fixed the problem. You folks might want to try solutions proposed on the dell website for Choppy/Skipping Audio Workarounds: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19142484/19265470.aspx#19265470
Selecting the high performance power settings does help.
