    Hi,
My daughters 1440 works online for about 15min and then it loses connection to the router and wont show any available wireless networks,I won't work until I reset the system and then it works for about 15 min again.I reinstalled the wireless driver and even tried to restore it to a few weeks before it started doing that but still does it.Could the wireless card be bad? Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know which card is in there an ho to get to it?
    Thank You,
    Bob

Yes, the wireless card could be bad but that's not likely. The 1440 ships with a Dell 1397 b/g wireless card. These cards have a good track record of working with a variety of wireless routers.

The first thing I would try would be a different driver. I've been using the default Microsoft hardware qualified driver for Windows 7 from Windows Update. I assume you're using Windows 7 x64. My device manager shows the driver to be the Broadcom version 5.30.21.0 from 10/1/2008. The fact that the driver hasn't been updated in almost two years tells me it's pretty stable and works well. Give that a try and let us know if it fixes the problem.

I wonder if this is the case, but try to turn off the power saving for your wireless card from the device manager, power saving is knowing to cause problems by turning off the WiFi Card when it shouldn't...
