    Inspiron 14z order

    Hi everyone,

    I ordered an Inspiron 14z with i5, 8GB RAM, and 750GB HDD yesterday (1/27)
    Within 2 or 3 hours of ordering, the order was processed, and pre-production was completed.
    This laptop is a preset configuration with no additional options. The build time says 1 day and the "maximum option delay" is 6 days. Estimated shipping date is 2/7/12. Based on previous knowledge/experience, when do you think it will ACTUALLY ship out?

    Now it is IN PRODUCTION, and that's all the website says. Where should I call/check to get more detailed information like kitting, build, testing, boxing etc.
    I called Dell order support, and he upgraded me to "next business day" shipping. What shipping carrier/method will be used in the USA for next business day shipping?

    next day shipping will not get you your laptop any faster than ground and they use Fedex

    Oh, that's weird. I live all the way in CA, and the Dell CSR told me that they will use FedEx overnight. So it reduces the ship time by 3-4 days! Do you mean that they just use ground no matter what?
