I ordered one for my wife a few weeks ago, the $550 configuration with the i3. We were both surprised at how slow it is. I just ordered an 8gb stick (I know this will not immediately improve the speed, but for future proofing) and an SSD. Note that there is only 1 ram slot, so you have to get the 8gb, not another 4.
I also plan on doing a clean windows 10 install on the SSD, I know Dell installs a lot of garbage.
The form factor is super impressive. The laptop is really thin and light, and the tablet mode is definitely usable and was a big selling point.
Just keep in mind that a $550 purchase will turn into around $700 if you want to feel like you are using a laptop in modern times. 4gb ram and a 5400rpm Hdd is a joke, but they charge too much of a premium on their side. I can report back once I've made the upgrades. (I am waiting to order the SSD until I get my dell advantage rewards, if that ever happens).
i have the I5 8gb. Of which I currently have two but not by choice. The keyboard has gone bad on one. i do like the form but its a little too big. Not really worried about the speed. I trying to find out if anyone has had the same issue. Its only certain keys. ive tried to search the 11 and 13 threads but they are vast.
