I just recieved my laptop today ordered from Dell Canada, and nowhere on their site does it say it comes with an IPS but it most definitely is an IPS screen. There is an option for a 4k IPS but I did not get that, this is a regular 1080p IPS screen. Here are comparison pics between the IPS Dell 7567 (left) and my TN Asus G53 (right).
Display options were:
15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display
15.6-inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display
http://www.dell.com/ca/p/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/pd?ref=PD_OC (I ordered the model for $1,599.99 but obviously didn't pay that price)

Not sure if it ships with them as standard, but it is now a free upgrade when it used to cost 50 dollars.
-
They were fools for releasing this with that crap TN panel originally. Very good laptop completely ruined by the screen.
I am glad they are fixing it. -
I just ordered the same specs as u have on the Canada Day sale. I was also worried it didn't give me any options to upgrade the screen to IPS. I hope that mine will come standard with the IPS display. It wasn't a deal breaker for me as Ive never had an IPS display but sure would be nice after reading all the crappy reviews lol. So you are sure u have the IPS display? so cool if it is.Last edited: Jul 10, 2017

This was interesting to read. I just ordered one of these laptops during a Canada Day sale and then started to read about the crappy reviews on the screen. I just thought oh well it was cheap enough and Ive never had an IPS screen anyway. So I ordered the fully loaded one with an i7, 16gb ram, gtx 1050ti. Also said nothing about IPS and no options to upgrade screen at all. I sure hope mine also comes with an IPS screen like it appears yours did.
-
I believe they do now come with the IPS panel by default. It's not the best one, but is much better than the TN panel it originally shipped with.
That being said, it's very easy to swap display panels on this laptop, plenty of Youtube guides show you how to do this. So you could just buy a panel off of eBay and then swap it yourself.
If you ordered the top-end machine, it probably came with the UHD display, which is an IPS panel. -
Ya I order the top of the line 7000 series they had on sale for canada day. i couldn't upgrade anything any further so hopefully it will come with that IPS screen. I seen some vids on youtube on replacing the screen and yes it does look easy to do. I did it on an older laptop to see and it was quite simple lol. thanks for the reply.

The top-end model you ordered comes with an UHD (4K) display panel. It's a Sharp IPS, model LQ156D1JW06. A very good panel (360 nits brightness or so, close to 100% sRGB coverage).
-
That's the thing that was confusing me because Dell Canada just had option for FHD 1080p backlit LED screen. There was no other options. It was a $1699 computer on sale for $1399. I will keep updated here. It should be here end of month.

Ah then, looks like you do indeed have the FHD panel, I remember that configuration.
At worse, if it turns out the panel is still a TN (I'm pretty sure Dell said they switched to an IPS panel) you can just switch it out yourself. -
That's what I figured at worst I can switch out for a better panel for about $60. Was still a pretty good setup for the price. That's why I went ahead and ordered. Was nice to see original poster said even though his said a FHD 1080p that it turned out to be an IPS and not TN.
-
I just received my laptop today and I'd say either A The TN display isn't as bad as people are saying or B I definitely received a free upgrade to the ips screen. I see no fading or colour washing when I move the screen. It is crystal clear and looks beautiful. I would most likely think I did indeed get the IPS version of this laptop. I would have to say I agree with the original poster on this matter. I'm very happy with this laptop. its amazing.
-
Just tell us what the panel model is and we can tell you if it's an IPS or a TN panel.
-
on the box it says item number G4GDF Description Mod, CVR, LCD, FHD, NT, BLK, 7566
-
when I typed in my service tag and looked up on dell website these numbers popped up for display
C1JFR 1 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.6FHD, AG, EDP1.2, BOE
XNHVP 1 INFORMATION, SWSI, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.6, NON-TCH -
Download and install HWINFO. Once you run that, under the monitor section it'll tell you exactly what make/model your display is.
-
Monitor Name (Manuf): B156HAN [DELL P/N: CV56F]
Monitor Name: AU Optronics [Unknown Model: AUO63ED]
Monitor Hardware ID: Monitor\AUO63ED
Serial Number: Unknown
Date Of Manufacture: Week: 0, Year: 2017
Max. Vertical Size: 19 cm
Max. Horizontal Size: 34 cm
thats everything that is listed for the monitor. thanks for your help -
That's an AUO panel, B156HAN01.x I'd reckon, one of the newer models (and not the excellent B156HAN01.2 that is no longer in production).
It's an AHVA panel, which is a similar technology to IPS. -
So it isn't the crappy TN panel that everyone is complaining about in reviews then? Well I have to tell you, I have no complaints. This display looks great. Its nice and bright and crystal clear. Colour reproduction looks great to me. Im very happy with it. I gamed on it for 5 hours last night and no problems. no lag and everything ran smooth and looked great. thanks alot for all your help and maybe this thread will show people that yes indeed Dell has done away with that infamous TN display that everyone is complaining about.
-
Yeah it's a totally decent panel for the price - you can't expect one of the better 99% sRGB/350 nits panel at this price point.
If you want to know what panel TN that was, look up reviews for the Lenov Y50 from several years ago - it was using the same display panel.
Here's the review I made of it, but I didn't post the colour-space numbers for some reason. -
Ya its totally decent to me. Mind you my other laptops were 5 years old and 8 years old so thats the type of display im used to. lol. This is a huge upgrade to what those are. they were before any ips technology even existed lol
-
Based on the HWID should be the AUO B156HAN06.3 (The two numbers in the AUO IDs usually seem to correpond to the two in the actual model number)
-
Does anybody know if Dell UK are shipping with the IPS screen?
-
I opened mine up and have that exact model number. Is there any information on the AUO B156HAN06.3 out there? I can only find spec sheets for the 6.0 and a little bit of info about the 6.1.
I see people say the 6.1 is bad for color, but the 6.0 shows pretty decent specs on panelook. So I am not sure what to think of my 6.3.
I am trying to figure out if it's worth ordering the AUO B156HAN01.2 or not. Which does have the wider color gamut. -
What region are you guys purchasing your laptops in? Every other review/person has the LGD053F IPS screen in their tests while you guys have the AUO. Maybe its just a supply change for the past month? You guys buy directly from Dell or Bestbuy (if in the us) ?
Edit: My Bestbuy model gets the AUO screen which I think is better.Last edited: Aug 30, 2017 -
What kind of boot times are people getting with this laptop? Mine is taking up to a minute to boot to desktop (I disable Win 10 login screen). I'm wondering if adding a storage HDD might've slowed it down?
I disabled Win 10 fast boot and that seemed to speed it up by about 30 seconds... but the boot time still feels sluggish for a SSD. -
I am booting with the m2 ssd and I just did a quick stopwatch test, took about 15 seconds. The m2 in the last computer dell sent me that had to be replaced due to them accidentally shipping the crappy tn panel, had even better read/write speeds on the ssd and would have booted even faster. But that m2 came with a stripped screw, so I couldn't swap them.
-
I would think not since they aren't listing it in the specs. The regions that are are listing it, and only on the versions that have it. You might still opt to get it and replace the screen yourself, though. You can get a better one than what Dell offers for IPS.
-
it is TN panel. I had the same and it is horrible.
