    Hallo forum,

it seems, that some Inspiron has TN and some IPS screens.
To clearify please do the following:

Load a programm like hwinfo64 or similar.
Post your monitor producer and id here.

For example, my Inspiron has the following screen:
1920x1080 LG Philips 156WF4 which seems to be an IPS screen

Some reported, that their display is a
1920x1080 AUO B156HW01 v1 which seems to be an TN screen
    AU Optronics B156HW01 V1 - B156HAN [DELL P/N: D7N36]

    kind regards,
    Dirk

I don't know the manufacturer, but I do know it's IPS and the same model on the AlienWare x18.

It seems there's a difference between the canadian and the US models:
From dell.ca (CA) The brightest Inspiron yet: The optional Full HD 15.6" display with available touch screen has 300-nit brightness, 97% more pixels than HD and 50% brighter than the previous-generation Inspiron 15.Additionally, the 160-degree viewing angle means your display looks clear and crisp from almost any seat.
While Dell.com (US): The optional Full HD 15.6" display with touch screen has 270-nit brightness, 97% more pixels than HD and 35% brighter than the previous-generation Inspiron 15. Additionally, the 160-degree viewing angle means your display looks clear and crisp from almost any seat.
Might be why there's a different selection of displays...

Mine is the AU Optronics, however I am not entirely convinced that it's TN as the viewing angles seem to be much better than other notebooks with this panel.

    I have the following:

Monitor Name: AU Optronics B156HW01 V1
    Monitor Name (Manuf): B156HAN [DELL P/N: D7N36]

Also purchased from futureshop in canada.

This appears to be the manufacturer's page for the display, which doesn't have much info... AUO - Display Product

I think the panel may be inaccurately reported or mislabeled as B156HW01 v1. That panel was produced in 2009 and is discontinued now.

The B156HAN is more likely the correct model name. This panel was produced in 2013 and is an AHVA display, which is AUO's IPS-like tech.

Take a look at the list here... http://www.panelook.com/sizmodlist.php?order=panel_id&by=desc&sizes[]=15.6&brand_family=AUO&order=panel_part_number&by=asc

    Cheers

do you have wifi issues? maybe strange question but maybe the newer versions won't have the wifi issues because they have a different lcd. (antenna is in the lcd assembly)

No, I don´t have issues with wifi. I have a fritz 7490 AC router and want to use 800mbit ;)

But i have seen, that the 7260N from Dell has a 25% lower signal strength than the 7260AC.
Futher the 7260AC works in every direction. The 7260N has problems with the connection, when the aluminium cover points towards the router.

So I think, that the 7260AC works better with reflection connection.

On the picture from Dell you can see, that the aluminium cover is blocking the connection and the antenna send the signal towards the user.

That's a Samsung PLS screen. It looks gorgeous IMO, with excellent viewing angle and colour reproduction. But do you notice any pixel walk/inversion issues? (are there faint waves running across the screen on grey-ish tones?). One concern is that PLS screens usually have poor refresh rates, which may become prevalent in games.

The LG Phillips screen is OK as well, but its pixel setup is horrible. I can still see faint pixel grids from a distance.

vvtech : you are right, the Samsung PLS screen is damn super crisp and color reproduction way better than many many screens. I can see tons of colors while playing videos. For me it's sea change as I just moved from Dell Inspiron 1564 TN panel based laptop to new Dell 7537 series. But almost 5 yr old TN panel is also good, and soft on eyes compare to Samsung PLS screen, off-course soft on eye does reduce the crispness tooo.

Overall this is brilliant screen, very sharp, crisp, bright white, massive color reproduction, and I have not seen any sort of faint waves as such , also no bleeding as such. Hope this scree losts longer too..

1st day was bit discomfort as to adjust to this kind of super sharp screens, after around 10 to 12 hours work I think my eyes got adjusted to the new screen i guess. First day, i really got eye strain as the 19xx * 13xx resolution / icons /letters is smaller than 13xx * 7xx resolution, which I use to from long time.

Overall this is very good laptop, however it may not as powerful as 47XX HQ or MQ based processor systems...when i tried with couple of VMs it's bit struggling from processing power prospective, otherwise this is one of the best, easily manageable laptop for many years i guess.

Also this Aluminum body remains almost same even after several years of use it seems.

PS: when I changed the resolution to 13XX level, battery backup went up to 8+ hours...with 19XX resolution, battery backing is around 5 hours.

If anyone noticed any useful tips with 7537, pls pass it.

Just some tips that I figured out by myself:
_ To increase the maximum brightness to a higher level, disable ''Dell Intelligent Display'' in Power Options. This will also minimize pixel walk, if such issue exists.
_ To stop the screen from flickering when running on battery, disable ''Panel Self-Refresh'' in the Power section of the intel graphics control panel
_ Uninstall the realtek driver and reinstall it if you hear a hissing sound when using headphones

VV Tech : Thanks, I have been using this laptop for some days, it's nice one but not really a powerful one in-spite of having 16GB RAM under hood...from the processing power prospective Dell 7537 laptop is merely same as Dell i5 stuff., just a marginal improvement...can u or any one reading this, Pls suggest a really strong laptop with following qualities.

    1. Strong build / Upgradable under-hood components
2.16GB RAM, but possible to increase it to 32GB in the near future
    3.Decent screen quality and IPS
    4. Backlit KB
    5.Touch screen
    6. Processing power
    7. May not be best battery , but around 3 to 4 Hours backup would suffice
8.Preferably low heat or having very good heat management
Around $1000 budget? is it possible?

Have a look at the MSI gaming laptop lines (if you don't mind their bulky look). For example (I'm in Australia): TECS
    AUD1,249 ~ USD1,000 I guess.
